ABOUT LITHAN ADVISORY GROUP

Strategic Clarity Before Technology Commitment

Technology decisions rarely go sideways because one tool was bad. They go sideways because the business outcome was unclear, the operating reality was not fully understood, the provider recommendation took over the conversation, or nobody owned the decision after the contract was signed.

Lithan Advisory Group is an independent technology advisory firm built to fix that part. We work with business leaders, MSP leadership teams, and independent healthcare organizations to bring structure to the decision before the proposal, platform, provider, or service model takes over the conversation.

Why Lithan Exists

Technology decisions have become harder for leadership teams to evaluate. Every provider has a recommendation. Every platform has a business case. Every internal team has a pain point. Every budget conversation eventually becomes a tradeoff between risk, growth, operations, and cost.

That is where clarity breaks down.

Lithan Advisory Group was built for leaders who need to make cleaner decisions before committing to a provider, platform, support model, internal hire, or long-term technology spend. Our role is not to sell the tool. Our role is to clarify the decision.

We clarify the decision before the tool enters the room.

WHO WE WORK WITH

Targeted Advisory for Your Role

Business Leaders

For owners, executives, and leadership teams evaluating MSPs, technology vendors, platforms, support models, cybersecurity investments, or major operational changes.

Lithan gives business leaders the structure to define what the organization needs before vendor conversations start driving the strategy.

MSP Leadership Teams

For MSP owners, CEOs, COOs, revenue leaders, and client-facing leadership teams working to strengthen account management, vCIO and vCTO work, strategic reviews, retention, and expansion.

Lithan installs a more disciplined client outcomes model so client relationships become more consistent, valuable, and easier to scale.

Healthcare Organizations

For independent medical professionals, practice leaders, and organizations working through technology, vendor, security, workflow, or MSO alignment decisions.

Lithan brings clarity to ownership, operational friction, vendor alignment, and technology decisions that affect the practice, staff, and patient experience.

HOW WE THINK

Technology Should Follow the Business Decision

Before leaders commit to a provider, platform, roadmap, or service model, they need clear answers to practical questions:

What are we trying to improve?
What risk are we trying to reduce?
What does the organization need to operate better?
What are we asking the provider or platform to actually solve?
Who owns the outcome after the decision is made?

Lithan brings the decision back to the business.

Business meeting

Strategic questions that are most often skipped.

THE LITHAN METHOD

Align the Business Before You Choose the Technology

Most technology decisions do not fail because the tool was bad. They fail because leadership, operations, providers, risk, budget, and ownership were never aligned before the spend was approved. Lithan helps organizations slow down the right parts of the decision, clarify what the business is trying to accomplish, and build the decision framework before vendors, platforms, or service models take over the conversation.

STEP 01

Define the Business Outcome

We clarify what the organization is trying to improve, protect, reduce, or enable before technology options are evaluated.

STEP 02

Map the Operating Reality

We look at how the organization actually runs today, including systems, vendors, workflows, ownership gaps, risk exposure, and internal capacity.

STEP 03

Pressure-Test the Decision

We challenge assumptions, compare options against business priorities, and identify where a recommendation may create friction later.

STEP 04

Build the Actionable Roadmap

We turn the strategy into priorities, sequencing, decision criteria, ownership, and next steps leadership can use.

Independent Advisory, Practical Execution

No bloated strategy decks

Lithan Advisory Group is advisory-led and decision-focused. That distinction matters. Most advisory firms give you a framework. We give you a decision. The work is practical, direct, and built around the actual choices leadership teams need to make, not the theory behind them. No bloated strategy decks. No consulting science fairs. We show up, clarify the decision, and give your team the confidence to move forward.

The outcome is clarity your team can act on

  • • Clearer priorities.
  • • Better evaluation criteria.
  • • Stronger provider conversations.
  • • Cleaner ownership.
  • • More purposeful technology spend.
ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Meet the Team

Lithan Advisory Group is led by Founding Partners Greg Datz and Dave Curley, who give leaders the clarity, structure, and operating discipline to make better technology decisions before those decisions become expensive, operationally messy, or difficult to reverse.

Greg Datz

Greg Datz

FOUNDING PARTNER

Greg Datz brings nearly 30 years of technology leadership, cybersecurity expertise, and operating experience to every engagement. He founded and successfully exited a multi-million dollar managed IT and cybersecurity services firm, served as CTO of a cybersecurity services provider, and led enterprise-scale transformation programs for some of the world's largest organizations, including a $650M technology modernization initiative for Procter & Gamble.

His experience spans highly regulated industries including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and financial services, with deep expertise in security-first architecture, modern infrastructure design, and aligning technology strategy with compliance and business objectives.

Greg is a practitioner first. He has built and run the operations clients are trying to improve, which means his advisory work is grounded in what actually happens after the contract is signed: service delivery, security risk, infrastructure decisions, ownership gaps, and execution reality.

Dave Curley

Dave Curley

FOUNDING PARTNER

Dave Curley brings more than 15 years of MSP sales leadership, revenue strategy, client advisory, and go-to-market experience across managed IT and cybersecurity services. He has worked inside recognizable providers including Valiant Technology, All Covered, Sourcepass, IT By Design, and Altourage, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer.

Across those roles, Dave built and led revenue teams, managed complex technology services sales cycles, and worked directly with the business owners and executives MSPs depend on for long-term growth. That background gives him a clear view of how providers frame value, where buyers lose leverage, and which commitments create operational problems later.

At Lithan Advisory Group, Dave gives leaders a clearer way to define what technology must accomplish before a long-term commitment is made, pressure-test provider recommendations against real operating priorities, and ask the questions that get missed once the sales process is already running.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Lithan Advisory Group do?
Lithan Advisory Group is an independent technology advisory firm that works with business leaders, MSP leadership teams, and independent healthcare organizations. The firm gives clients a structured way to define business priorities, evaluate technology options and providers, identify gaps and misalignment, and build a practical plan before major commitments are made. Lithan's approach focuses on getting the strategy right before any provider, platform, or service model enters the room.
Is Lithan Advisory Group an MSP?
No. Lithan Advisory Group is an independent advisory firm, not a managed services engagement. Lithan does not manage your infrastructure, provide end-user support, or sell technology services through the advisory relationship. The firm gives leaders independent guidance before they commit to a provider, so clients get direction aligned with their business interests, not a vendor's revenue targets.
Who does Lithan Advisory Group work with?
Lithan works with business leaders, MSP leadership teams, and independent healthcare organizations making important technology, vendor, support model, cybersecurity, or operational decisions.
What is technology advisory?
Technology advisory is independent guidance that gives leadership teams a structured way to make better technology decisions before they commit to a provider, platform, or service model. It is different from implementation or managed services because the advisor's job is not to sell the solution. At Lithan, technology advisory means defining what the business actually needs, challenging vendor and provider recommendations against real business priorities, and building a decision framework leadership can use to evaluate options clearly and move forward with confidence.
What is MSP advisory?
MSP advisory gives managed service providers a stronger operating model for client strategy. Most MSPs do not lose clients because their technical work is bad. They lose clients because account management is inconsistent, QBRs lack strategic value, and client relationships never move beyond reactive support. Lithan's MSP advisory work centers on the Client Outcomes OS, a framework that installs discipline around client segmentation, account planning, strategic reviews, and expansion so MSP leadership teams can build client relationships that are more consistent, more valuable, and easier to scale.
When should a business bring in an independent technology advisor?
The right time to bring in an independent technology advisor is before the commitment, not after. If your organization is evaluating a new MSP or technology provider, reworking an underperforming vendor relationship, making a major platform or cybersecurity investment, or trying to align internal stakeholders around a technology direction, Lithan can bring structure to the decision before the cost of getting it wrong starts compounding. The firms that get the most value from advisory work are the ones that engage before the contract is signed and the switching costs kick in.
